Led by Ms. Xiuwen Pan, the Vice President of DRAGON, the Administrative Division is responsible for the management of firm finance, human resource, firm publicity, maintenance and improvement of the office facilities, software and database, as well as the routine work for the smoothly running of the office.
As the result of the efforts made by the Administrative Division, DRAGON has successfully established a complete electronic document database to store all the filed application documents electronically. The documents stored in the database not only include the application documents in Chinese submitted to the SIPO for filing, and the various responses to the office actions made by DRAGON's attorneys under the request of the examiners in the course of the SIPO's examination, but also include the original patent application documents in foreign language provided by our foreign clients for translation. All these documents are well stored electronically in a form for easy retrieve. It provides a very convenient way for the attorneys to search and to retrieve various documents when they need. Therefore, it greatly improves their work efficiency. DRAGON's electronic document database also makes DRAGON well prepared for future adoption of electronic filing that is now under consideration and will be implemented by the SIPO in the near future.
A high-speed local area network (LAN) established in DRAGON's office and well operated by the Administrative Division gives the firm a very effective and very convenient means for the internal administration and internal communication.
It is worth a mention here that DRAGON has introduced an advanced LAN-based software system for its management of the patent and trademark applications, which ensures that all important information related to applications can be input and stored in the compute timely, completely and accurately, thus an integrated, complete and accurate information database can be established and used. This system provides a reliable and convenient means for managing, supervising, searching and retrieving various information concerning application cases such as the legal status, the timeline, the annuity payment, the clients' contact information etc. It has become an indispensable tool for the effective management of the applications. Assisted by a traditional manual method for the double safety, this software system has made DRAGON achieving a non-mistake record in the timeline supervision for all patent applications filed and prosecuted by DRAGON. |
