Led by Ms. Yuzhen Yu, the vice president and the Director of the Patent Application Division, DRAGON’s Patent Application Division consists of Legal Affair Section, Foreign Application Section, Domestic Application Section, Document/Timeline Supervision Section, and is responsible for legal application procedures and management of application documents, timeline supervision, patent annuity payment and liaisons with the SIPO, applicants and clients.

Ms. Yu was the first director of the Patent Filing Procedures Division and had been the Director of the PCT Application Division of the SIPO for many years. She participated in drafting the PCT sections of both the Implementing Regulations of the Chinese Patent Law and the SIPO's “Guideline For Examination”. Ms. Yu is regarded as one of few highly respected top PCT experts in China and can provide our clients with the most authoritative consultation on PCT application both in the international phase and in the national phase. Her extensive experience in patent filing procedure and PCT application practice combined with her scrupulous character and her precise working style assures that DRAGON’s management of the legal application procedures is distinguished by its rationality, accurateness and effectiveness.

Most of the patent attorneys in the Patent Application Division are thoroughly experienced in the legal procedures of the patent application and have good command of at least one foreign language. Based on their superior understanding of the SIPO patent filing procedures and their unique advantage of close link with the SIPO, by means of individual responsibility system and double checking system, and equipped with an advanced network-based patent application management software system, the Patent Application Division well manages all application documents and timeline in the whole process of the patent application including patent application filing, patent issuance and annuity payment. Their fluent English and Japanese both in writing and in speaking assures DRAGON's high efficiency and good quality in dealing with the applications from foreign clients.
